FAQ

Questions, answered

What is changing for zero-hours contracts in the UK?
The Employment Rights Act 2025 received Royal Assent on 18 December 2025. It creates future rights for eligible zero-hours and low-hours workers to receive guaranteed-hours offers reflecting their regular working patterns, reasonable notice of shifts, and payments when employer-initiated shifts are cancelled, moved or shortened at short notice. The Government currently plans to introduce these rights in 2027, but the exact date and important details will be confirmed after consultation. Employers in England, Scotland and Wales should begin reviewing contracts, rota practices and working-hours records now.
Is an NDA legally binding in the UK?
An NDA can be legally enforceable when it forms a valid agreement and its terms are clear, reasonable and lawful. Enforceability depends on the wording, the circumstances and the applicable UK jurisdiction — which is why the AI Lawyer walks you through the definitions, permitted use and duration, and why professional review is available for anything high-stakes.
Can AI really draft my employment contract?
The AI Lawyer prepares drafts and document briefs in minutes, guided by UK-law templates and up-to-date rules. For anything high-stakes, you can book a Tele-legal video consultation and have a qualified professional review the result before you rely on it — AI speed with human assurance.
What is Contract Intelligence?
Upload a supported employment or business contract and the AI reviews it clause by clause: it flags risky terms, spots missing protections, and explains everything in plain English so you know exactly what you are signing. For anything unusual or high-stakes, pair it with a Tele-legal consultation.
What does the free plan include?
You can start at £0/month with core templates and tools — no card needed. Paid plans scale with how many contracts and documents you handle; current prices are always shown in the Pricing section above, and every paid plan includes the business tools, CLM and Tele-legal access (professionals' own fees are paid to them directly).
Do you cover the USA as well as the UK?
Yes — there are free US contract templates ready to download, and the AI Lawyer answers US-law questions too. See the United States page for everything US-specific.
Is Dogetlawyer a law firm?
No. Dogetlawyer provides legal information, AI-assisted drafting and access to independent professionals through Tele-legal. It is not a law firm and does not provide regulated legal advice.
How long does a document take?
Most documents take minutes: you answer a short set of guided questions and the AI Lawyer prepares a structured draft while you watch. Reviewing it properly — which you should always do — takes longer than creating it.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes — Dogetlawyer runs in the browser and adapts to phones and tablets. No app to install; log in from any device and your documents and contracts are there.
Can my team use it too?
Yes — paid plans include team seats, so colleagues can share the workspace, documents and the contract register. Seat numbers are shown on each plan in the pricing section.
Why Dogetlawyer

A legal-purpose AI, not a general chatbot

Dogetlawyer runs on a legal-purpose AI engine: its outputs are built around UK legal frameworks — document structures, statutory requirements, dates and duties — not general conversation. General-purpose chatbots such as ChatGPT and Claude are excellent for background information, but they are not designed as legal-document services: no UK template library, no contract register, no deadline tracking, and no route to a real professional. Dogetlawyer is designed for exactly that job — and when AI is not enough, an identity-verified, independent professional is one video call away.

What you need Dogetlawyer General AI chatbots Solicitor-only route
UK legal documents Purpose-built templates and guided drafting for UK law General information — you assemble and check the document yourself Drafted for you, bespoke
Contract review Clause-by-clause AI review of supported employment and business contracts Freeform commentary, no legal-document workflow Full professional review, charged for
Contract tracking Free CLM register — owners, versions, renewal deadlines Not available Rarely included
A real professional Identity-verified independents on video via Tele-legal, when you choose Not built in Always — fixed-fee or hourly, varies by firm
Starting cost Free plan, no card required Free or subscription Paid engagement from the outset

General-purpose chatbots such as ChatGPT and Claude are excellent assistants — they are simply not designed as legal-document services. This comparison reflects product design, not the quality of those tools.
